Hamelin Trust is taking part in Eco Racing’s Christmas Shopping virtual balloon race!
The Trust is joining other charitable organisations in the race and invites you to get involved, raise funds for the charity, have fun, and be in with a chance of winning the top prize of £100! You can get your balloons now.

Here you can purchase, decorate and customize your balloon ahead of the virtual launch from Tiffany’s in New York City at noon (UK time) on Thursday 1st December.
Balloons cost just £3 each and you can buy as many as you’d like! Sales close 30 minutes before the launch.
The virtual balloons are ‘launched’ at the same time and whichever balloon is furthest from the starting point after 7 days will be declared the winner.
The race is not just a case of luck, your decisions can help or hinder your chances of winning. The race is based on real time weather conditions and you decide how much helium to put in your balloon and how thick the material is.
Thinner material may make the balloon lighter and faster, but it might be more likely to pop, whereas a thicker balloon may be more durable, but slower. Which way are you going to go?!
What’s great about this virtual race is the fact that no real balloons are involved which means it’s much safer for the environment and wildlife, but just as fun to be a part of!
You can also track your balloon throughout the race to see how it’s getting on.
The race is organised by EcoRacing with numerous charitable organisations taking part. The overall winner of the race from all entries will win a fantastic £100 with the runner up bagging an Amazon Alexa / Echo Dot 4th generation!
