Communications for our families and service users regarding Coronavirus

You are aware the risk in the UK remains under constant review by the government and NHS.  Hamelin Trust are taking guidance from them and Public Health England.

This guidance currently indicates that anyone who has no symptoms can continue to maintain their normal activities and can attend their usual service provision.  This guidance also applies to staff who work in our services.

However, advice for everyone is to telephone 111 or your GP in the next two weeks if you, your relative to whom we offer a service, any member of your family, or a person with whom you have had contact develops the following symptoms:

  • a cough
  • a high temperature
  • shortness of breath

We have updated all of our risk assessments around keeping our service users safe and are implementing additional infection control measures as advised for all of the UK population through the action plan announced by the government on 3rd March.

Our monitoring of Gov.uk, NHS and PHE advice and taking appropriate action as advised from this will be aided by your own commitment to remaining aware of the most current guidance and by taking the appropriate action as detailed within it.

If you have travelled abroad to any of the affected areas or have plans to do so, please continue to monitor your health and that of your relative whom we support and notify the appropriate authorities and ourselves if any concern should arise.

Please do not send your relative to our services if they appear unwell even if they have not travelled to one of the areas of concern.

Should any of our service users or members of staff become ill with the virus we will, of course, initiate an action plan via liaison with Public Health England who will offer advice regarding notifying others.

Individual service managers may contact you in the coming days and weeks with details of the specific management strategies they have for reducing the risks of coronavirus and of any additional action or information they may require of you.

Please be assured that the health and well-being of all of our service users is, as ever, of paramount importance to all who work for Hamelin Trust.

Thank you once again for working in partnership with us to jointly reduce the risks of the Coronavirus interrupting the services we provide.
