Off to a Flying Start
Adrenaline junky supporters may have been jumping from a plane (with a parachute, of course), but they were a soaring success when raising funds for children and adults with disabilities and their carers.
In 2017 alone, we had seven supporters who were brave enough to jump from 12,000 feet, bringing the total number of people who have jumped out of a plane for individuals with disabilities and their carers to 14. Are you brave enough to take the leap? Why not get a group together?
Being our most popular challenge to date, we are inviting you to take part in a skydive this summer to raise funds for people in your local community!
Here is what one plucky skydiver had to say about her daring jump:
“Terrified of heights and flying, it was the ultimate challenge for me. My knees knocked whilst we awaited our turn and when we got into the plane I felt quite sick, but getting that far was the hard part.
“Ascending to 14,000 feet and the moment of abandon, falling from the plane was an absolute thrill and the free fall, the rush of the air, and then far too soon the canopy opened and the noise of the wind was replaced by silence as we glided serenely back to earth.
“Would I do it again? Absolutely!!!”
